José-Marguerite Rigo

José-Marguerite Rigo, who is retired from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was born in Annecy, Haute Savoie, 76 years ago. Her parents were appointed teachers to Morocco, where she herself became a teacher before joining the Ministry. She pursued her career between Rabat (Morocco) and Paris, before taking an early retirement in 1998 to follow her husband and fulfill her passion for painting.

In 2005, she settled permanently in Avignon, where she actively involved herself, and built strong, lasting bonds. Her sense of sharing has enabled her to join several organizations, in which she carried out actions to help others with conviction. Through these commitments, she proved herself reliable and passionate, because she knows how to fight for difficult causes, and she often succeeds.

Today, she is very proud to have joined the team at the Institut d’Avignon, which allows her to continue to teach, but also, to learn.
