Yue Zhuo

Yue Zhuo is Professor of French and Literary Theory, Director of the Center for Research on French Culture and Thought at Shanghai University. Her research focuses on the “unclassifiable” writings of modern and contemporary French literature. A specialist in the works of Georges Bataille, Roland Barthes and Pascal Quignard, she has published more than thirty essays on these authors and other twentieth-century French philosophers and writers. She is currently editing a volume titled French Theory in China, to be published by the University of Pennsylvania Press.
