Stéphane Pujol

Stéphane Pujol is University Professor at the University of Toulouse – Jean Jaurès. A specialist in the 18th century and the literature of ideas, he is the author of a summary work on the genre of dialogue (Le dialogue d’idées au XVIIIe siècle, Oxford, Voltaire Fondation, 2005) and of a study on Le Neveu de Rameau by Diderot (Le philosophe et l’original, PURH, 2016). He also co-edited a book devoted to the philosophy of Voltaire (Voltaire philosophe, regards croisés, C18, Ferney Voltaire, 2017), and a book on Femmes artistes à l’âge classique (Paris, Garnier, 2021, price of National Academy of Sciences, Belles Lettres and Arts of Bordeaux). His latest work is entitled Morale et Sciences des mœurs dans l’Encyclopédie (Paris, Champion editions, 2021, prize of the Academy of Moral and Political Sciences.

He was program director at the Collège International de Philosophie (CIPh).

He is currently director of the ELH research team attached to the PLH laboratory of the University of Toulouse – Jean Jaurès, and director of the ALLPH@ doctoral school (Arts-Lettres-Langues-Philosophy-Communication) in this same university.
